The National Lumber Online platform in development will automate the busywork around it: uploads, status, revisions, approvals, ordering, delivery windows. As automated measurement earns its place, it gets added with human checks, not instead of them.

Framing takeoff FAQ
What does the takeoff cost?
Nothing. The takeoff and quote are how we earn the material order. There's no obligation. If our number doesn't work, keep the list.
How fast will I get it?
Our target is 2–3 business days for a typical single-family or small multifamily set. Larger or unusual scopes can take longer. We'll give you a date on the scope call, and if your bid is due sooner, say so and we'll tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
What plan formats do you take?
PDF is the workhorse. CAD files help when you have them. Clean photos of a printed set work for smaller jobs. If pages are missing or unreadable, we flag it the same day rather than guessing.
How long is the quote good for?
Lumber moves. Every quote states its validity window on the sheet, and if the market shifts before you order, we re-price the affected lines and show you what changed. No silent adjustments.
Do you do delivery?
Yes. Deliveries are coordinated to jobsites across Rhode Island, staged by phase where the site allows. Broader New England by arrangement on package size.
What if the plans change mid-job?
Send the revision cloud. We re-run the affected assemblies, mark what changed in the list, and price the delta, so change orders are documented instead of argued.
Can you size beams or engineer the structure?
We quote and supply what your structural drawings call for, and we'll flag anything that looks off. Structural design and final sizing stay with your engineer of record. We don't play engineer, and you shouldn't want a supplier who does.
